Bio

Kimberly Butcher has worked in early childhood since her college days when she worked as a preschool assistant and a preschool teacher. For the past 28 years, she has served in a leadership capacity. Kimberly currently serves as the Palermo Union Elementary School District Preschool Services Director and as an Early Childhood Adjunct Faculty for Yuba Community College. Kimberly also volunteers presently as President of the Family Soup Board, a non-profit dedicated to supporting families with special needs children navigate complex service systems. Kimberly holds an MA in Education, and she has a wealth of expertise in instructional excellence, inclusion, and relationship building.

Kimberly is dedicated to student development and the development of high-quality early instruction and play. Kimberly’s deep personal belief that we are all responsible for advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves drives her to keep up with young learners. She seeks and writes grants for early childhood dollars that expand and meet the needs of the districts where she works. She also looks for ways to provide additional support to exceptional needs children and their families. She believes that modifications to learning environments foster growth for all students and that early intervention is the key to future school success.

Kimberly loves to spend time with her husband, catching fish or playing games with as many of their six adult children and families as possible. Her greatest joy is racing and then reading to her grandson.

Kimberly’s Motto: Together, we are stronger, for the ones who matter most, children.
