P-3 Alignment Content Coordinator, Early Care & Education, Office of Fresno County Superintendent of Schools
Wendy Hernandez is the P-3 Alignment Content Coordinator for the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS). With over 30 years of experience in early education, Wendy promotes equity, reform, and quality education for all children. She started her career in education as a Special Education Instructional Aide. After earning a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, she served as a K-8 teacher for 15 years. She was then promoted as an Instructional Coach, and later to a Site and District Administrator. As principal, she led the transformation of a rural school composed of predominantly high-poverty, dual language learners. These students became the highest readers in the district and received the California Gold Ribbon Award. As Supervisor of Preschool, she developed foundational practices and a network of support for staff. Wendy is a member of the Local Planning Council of Fresno County, The Children’s Movement, and a fellow for the Center for District Innovation and Leadership.
